The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has named National Government Services (NGS) the Medicare administrative contractor (MAC) for Connecticut and New York. By November 2008, NGS will assume processing and payment of Medicare Part A and B fee-for-service claims submitted by hospitals and other health care providers in these states. This work is currently performed by several fiscal intermediaries and carriers.
