The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced that the Medicare Part A hospital insurance deductible will increase by $32 in 2008 to $1,024. After the first 60 days of Medicare-covered inpatient hospital care, beneficiaries pay daily coinsurance, which in 2008 will increase by $8 for days 61-90 to $256 per day and by $16 after 90 days to $512. The standard Medicare Part B premium will increase by $2.90 in 2008 to $96.40 per month.
